Welcome! I am a coral biologist and marine bio-geochemist working at  the University of Technology Sydney. I am an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Early Career Research Award Recipient (DECRA) & Chancellors Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Climate Change Cluster.

I am a National Geographic Explorer and 2019 Rolex Awards for Enterprise Associate Laureate.

I am also a United Nations Young Leader for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This honorary position undertaken in September 2018 will last for two years and will see me work with the UN to advocate for #Youth2030 and the SDGs.

Since an early age I have had a love for the ocean and the diversity of life it supports.  Born and raised in Essex England people often ask how I got into coral reef biology.  I think my love for the ocean and coral reefs stems from my childhood travels with my family.  Our family adventures opened my eyes to different cultures and allowed me to experience firsthand the natural beauty of the ocean.

Alongside my academic position I am an avid SCUBA diver and have a love for underwater photography. I enjoy exploring ways to communicate my research to the general public and find photography is a great way of achieving this.
